Founded in 2022, GCarbon Coin was established to target actions in areas that can profoundly change the direction of greenhouse gas emission trajectories.  This is being done in 4 areas:

1) Solar & Storage Project Development:  

AI is the single biggest problem in lowering electricity greenhouse gas emissions.  Coupling AI companies with large solar and storage projects (100's of MW) can help provide sustainable AI Infrastructure without climate change impacts.  We are currently focusing efforts on a project at the Mexico-California border that combines pumped hydro, batteries and solar PV and offers a near-zero carbon emission solution for AI companies in California and Arizona.  It includes community solar and water conservation programs to offset water consumption and energy impacts of AI companies. 

2) Jungle Preservation through Reforestation, Silvopasture Training Indigenous Guards and Using Drone & Satellite Tech to Disable Illegal Mining, Logging, and Ranching

We are working along the edge of the Amazon with several Brazilian partners to initiate a program for jungle preservation and reforestation using native macauba & fruit trees, drones, satellites, and indigenous guards.  The key strategies involve assisting cattle farmers now occupying the forest edges to plant macauba oilseed trees in pastures so they can avoid soil degradation of pasture from heavy rain, provide shade and water for dry summers, and provide a food supply to feed animals.  This "silvopasture" is coupled with native tree restoration to provide habitat for macaw parrots (pictured left) and other birds.  It also provides corridors between intact jungles for animals.  Farmers will be able to increase cattle density on reforested pasture while agreeing to stop deforestation and illegal grazing.  This will provide higher incomes for cattle farmers while the oilseed fruits will provide a sustainable feedstock for a super-healthy olive oil replacement and a waste product to refine sustainable aviation fuel. The tree planting and oil processing is a project of our partner Vitaminoleic (www.vitaminoleic.com). GCarbon Brazil (www.gcarbonbrazil.com) is assisting by providing advice and feed additives to ranchers to reduce methane emissions from cattle (red seaweed & caliandra calothyrsus).  Our role is focused on training indigenous guards to protect the jungle, get ranchers to agree to keep cattle out of deforested areas and introducing aggressive methods to stop illegal ranching, mining, fires and logging.  This involves drone technology for surveillance, satellite monitoring of forest changes, video feeds to judges and IBAMA for immediate approval, and aggressive methods to disable illegal operations using drones when approval is obtained. 

3. Galvanizing Action on Climate with Gaming and Crypto Coins

We are currently developing protocols and working with carbon credit certifiers to obtain credits for reforestation with native trees, soil sequestration, methane reductions, and renewable energy use.  This is being done jointly with GCarbon Brazil and Vitaminoleic as part of the rollout of the macauba silvopasture program and introduction of new feedstocks for the production of healthier food and biofuel from waste.   Our objective is to offer carbon credits to consumers by incorporating them into a game to preserve and restore jungles.  The game is currently in the design stage and not set for release until the pilot project is underway in late 2026.  The game will have players take sides in the war to preserve or destroy the jungle and learn from the game what strategies are the most effective in solving problems, overcoming challenges, and creating effective solutions for preservation and restoration.  Players in the game will earn crypto coin points that can be redeemed for tradable carbon credits when the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) occurs. Carbon credits can be sold to other players or individuals wanting to offset their carbon emissions or traded for discounts from companies wanting to offer carbon-neutral products or services (airline flights, overnight packages, building materials, etc.).  

4) Micro-Lending to Help Local Entrepreneurs:

GCarbon Coin is involved in micro-lending to local micro-entrepreneurs in areas where we work.  This provides income for the very poor while offering opportunities to get the message out about our activities.  We have loans outstanding with a coop in Brazil that is training farmers on new carbon-sequestering crops, including the silvopasture program with macauba described above.  We are also lending to a small coffee company that is working with coffee co-ops on sustainable practices while also rolling out a consumer education program using coffee distributors, packaging and web links. We are also providing a loan to a very poor family in the Philippines that will be starting up the Tuk Tuk Adventure Tour project (www.tuktukadventuretours.com) to show tourists the beauty of an island while educating them on traditional sustainable practices.  While the Tuk-Tuk is gasoline now, we will evolve to an electric Tuk-Tuk once solar panels and charging infrastructure is in place.  We are also working with a Russian honey entrepreneur to help with winterizing honeycomb structures to increase bee survival so greater pollenation can occur in the mountain forests and provide premium wildflower honey. We plan on expanding this micro-lending to the indigenous tribes we are working with in Brazil as the jungle preservation project rolls out at the end of 2026.
