Solar Charge to Real Zero

HOME

GCarbon Coin, Sustainable Building Blocks, and Solar Charge to Real Zero have teamed up to develop a program to deliver technology and management for producing zero emission housing, electricity, transportation and data searches.  Our strategies for community owned microgrids and direct connections of PV to EV will allow community solar do more than just provide zero emission electricity & transport, but also be a driver for economic development in the region.  We will build a network of 33 projects in Southwest and Plains states where technologies and strategies will be implemented at scale to shift society quickly to a zero emission lifestyle.  Elements include the following:

NATIVE POWER CHARGE TO REAL ZERO

A large part of the effort to build out solar PV, EV Charging and low income housing is directed at Native American communities. We believe our combination of sustainable transportation, tourism promotion, local zero emission housing and solar energy provide the key ingredients to augment Native American sustainable development efforts. Key elements of the proposed plan for 11 Native American Tribal Nations are as follows:

•GCarbon Coin will team up with Native American tribes in the Southwest and Plains states to propose joint ventures to build solar PV and EV charging facilities that are coupled with super-efficient solar housing for tribal members, tourist facilities and other amenities that demonstrate sustainable living.

•Project sites near highway exits have been identified on tribal lands in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Oklahoma.  Eleven tribes will all be approached initially about forming a Native Real Zero Power Network

•The tribes will benefit from being part of a larger network of charging stations that are coupled with solar PV development and housing that make it easier for Native Americans to switch to renewables & sustainable living while providing income from higher value electricity sales, tourism promotion and other opportunities.

An important focus is community solar which will allow tribal members to lower electric costs by 20% by subscribing to Solar PV capacity being installed. A subscription effort will be done by a local Tribal non-profit who will also benefit from a portion of the income.

GCarbon will work closely with housing districts and community development entities in the Tribal Nations to introduce Sustainable Building Block technology and explain its benefits in lowering energy costs, protecting the homes from fire and extreme weather and achieving zero emissions from smart design. In tribes interested in the technology we will work out joint ventures with Sustainable Building Blocks to manufacture blocks, floor & wall tiles and stucco for distribution in the state.

• GCarbon Coin will assist the tribes by writing grants and packaging business plans and financing proposals for all joint projects and building out capacity. GCC will also make sure projects meet terms of Inflation Reduction Act, 45Z tax credits and any other grant or regulatory requirements

SOLAR POWER CHARGE NETWORK

Solar Charge to Real Zero & GCC are forming a network of 11 stations owned through JV’s by tribes to recharge electric cars & trucks on tribal lands using pv solar, EV charging systems and housing to help bolster income, jobs & increase traffic to existing native businesses. The final tribes we are working with and location of the projects is still in discussion stage with the tribes based on their interest and needs with final design aligning with project details of interest. The network of tribes we are approaching is detailed in the map below:

SUSTAINABLE BUILDING BLOCKS MATERIALS MANUFACTURING PLANT & NATIVE HOUSING & & &

An important element in the GCarbon Coin consortium is to offer to Tribal Nations the option to set up manufacturing facilities for block and tile that will allow them to create a large number of jobs from both material manufacturing and housing construction or building retrofits. The details of the technology are detailed in the zero emission housing section of the web site. This section describes why it is in the interest of both Native American tribes and the GCarbon Consortium to work together to solve practical problems of housing, jobs, advanced energy and housing technology and best designs for living sustainably. Key elements include:

Sustainable Building Blocks (SBB) is looking to form joint ventures with Native American partners in Indian Country in selected states where projects are occurring

GCarbon Coin & SBB will work with Native Housing Districts to discuss how combination of solar PV and SBB technology could help in improving housing costs, afforability, comfort and safety from climate extremes.

If there is sufficient interest in the tribe and in adjoining tribal or non-tribal markets, SBB will propose a joint venture and provide the combination of technology, engineering & design for the plant, materials sourcing and marketing of block and tile and stucco products to allow for investment in a block & tile manufacturing plant

The tribe will need to have access to clay right near the plant site and be near a local cement factory. The special materials will be shipped to the site by rail or truck and special equipment shipped in. We expect to be able to manufacture and sell blocks and tiles equivalent to cement blocks & tiles at a price below competing products

The local manufacturing capacity and low cost of materials will insure that housing that is super-efficient and protects against extreme climates can be built at a price below the normal stick built house and when combined with high efficiency heat pumps and energy star appliances offers zero emission housing at a lower price.

The key to further lowering housing costs over the life of the building is to couple it with community solar so that housing gets energy from solar electricity and batteries at a lower cost than grid electricity or natural gas. This will require coordinating efforts with GCarbon Coin and install Solar PV in parallel with housing.

Utility Scale Community Solar

Solar PV for EV Charging, LMI Housing & Community Solar:

The use of microgrids and batteries eliminates the need for utility distribution of electricity so that savings can be passed on to community solar, affordable housing, EV charging and data customers.  We will also eliminate wait time for interconnection to grids and demand charges for high loads such as quick charging.

We will propose a 1 to 5 MW solar PV, wind & battery systems in each community to start that can build up to 50 MW depending on the increased demand for energy for housing/buildings, EV charging or a data center.

System will consist of a ground or large building mounted PV array that is linked to state-of-the-art battery systems to provide power for most or all of the electrical requirements in the microgrid

Community ownership of the system will be proposed through co-investment, tax credit cashout and low interest loans and by getting subscription agreements to utilize power being produced.

The microgrid will not rely on utility distribution of power but will put the project under a shared ownership model where co-investment leads to a share of electricity produced at the least cost.

Solar PV and battery storage in utility scale systems is now the lowest cost electricity resource (4.5 c/kWh) and all areas targeted in this project have lots of solar resources to meet demands. Any power shortfalls will be met through interconnection to the grid but the grid demand for power is expected to be very low.

Super efficient LMI housing

LMI Super-Efficient Fireproof Housing

Affordable Housing & Super Efficient Fireproof Building Retrofits:

We will work with State, Indigenous and local housing authorities to demonstrate the feasibility of building super-efficient zero emission homes that are also fireproof using locally produced high refraction materials

Block manufacturing will occur in 1-2 locations in each state we are working in that will use locally available clay (65%), cement (15%) and special materials (20%) to produce blocks with high refraction characteristics and special Lego block design that provide the ability to repel fire & withstand extreme weather conditions.

The block & tile production process uses very little energy by replacing firing with a pressure process. When this is combined with the low energy materials, the resulting building has very low embedded Co2 emissions.

The use of these blocks and tiles will allow for construction of a 1000 sq. ft. buildings for under $70.000 that includes high efficiency heat pump, thermal shutters and a special design to optimize comfort & energy use.

We are targeting construction of homes initially in the same area as community solar so that electricity comes from solar and batteries at the least cost and the building has zero emissions from energy use

We will also work with housing districts to use the same technologies to other areas where housing is being built as well as working with businesses and governments to retrofit buildings with special stucco coatings.
